Job Overview
We are seeking to recruit a Lead Asbestos Surveyor to join our busy surveying department to conduct Refurbishment, Management and Pre Demolition surveys in and around the South, East & Midlands areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will have experience in the asbestos surveying industry and be familiar with all aspects of the UKAS ISO17020 system.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the method statement and on site health and safety requirements are followed;
- Ensuring that the tasks of both yourself and others are conducted strictly in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations;
- Ensuring equipment is maintained, data is recorded in a legible manner, samples are handled and stored appropriately and providing general support to the Quality/Technical Manager where required;
- Ensuring UKAS requirements are met at all times;
- Liaising with clients whilst working on their premises;
- Compiling survey reposts and sign off for completion.
Candidates must be committed to regular on-going training, be flexible regarding working hours (evenings/weekends), be self-motivated, punctual, willing and enthusiastic, be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team, be able to prioritise tasks when working under pressure and be extremely conscientious, with a keen eye for detail.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
You will have a minimum of 2 years Lead Surveyor experience; demonstrable experience of refurbishment and pre-demolition inspections; work to UKAS accredited procedures; high profile projects in variety of premises; detailed client interface; and report writing.
You will also be an excellent communicator and be able to multi-task as well as being highly organised and have a good ability to prioritise. You will be BOHS P402 qualified and be a CSCS card holder. Being able to work in a confined space and at height would be advantageous.
Having experience with industry related P modules; S301 written / oral; demolition / construction experience; and asbestos removal experience is desirable.
